Because of the changes in the federal government these days, the website Climate.gov has been shut down and if you go to that web address you will get redirected to NOAA.gov. While that site says they will carry monthly climate summaries and other climate-related posts, a lot of what made Climate.gov so helpful was discussions of ENSO, polar outbreaks, and trends in climate that are no longer being covered. The folks that were laid off when Climate.gov shut down have now put their energy into recreating the website at Climate.us, which is operating as a non-profit instead of as a government agency. This new site will contain a lot of the same information as the old Climate.gov site, including a climate dashboard, maps and blogs, copies of the 5th National Climate Assessment, and resources on climate literacy. I hope you will venture over there and take a look at the new site. I give a lot of credit to the former authors of Climate.gov who have made it their mission to preserve this important source of information following its demise on the federal website.
