The latest seasonal outlook from NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center indicates that the August and August through October periods are likely to be hotter and wetter than normal for most of the region. Wet conditions are especially likely in Florida and along the coasts where they may be hit by tropical storms as activity in the Atlantic ramps up in August. The good news is that this means that the dry conditions we are experiencing now are not likely to last for long, and in fact the rain we are getting this week is already whittling away at the drought.
