The rain this week should be fairly moderate across the region, but the highest amounts are likely to fall in Virginia and North Carolina where drought has been slowly expanding. This should help halt or reverse that trend. The heaviest rains will fall over the next few days, with drier conditions mid-week before some showers return at the end of the week.Week 2 is showing a continuation of this pattern. There is likely to be some severe weather this weekend into Monday along with the rain, so continue to monitor your local conditions.
