The latest 7-day QPF map shows that only light to moderate rain is expected across the region this week. The heaviest rain will fall in southwest Alabama and the far western Florida panhandle, and the driest area will be in the Florida peninsula where no rain is expected to fall. Most of the rain will fall early in the week and high pressure and dry conditions will return late in the week. Weeks 2 through 4 are also expected to be below normal by NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, so that will likely expand the drought across the region.
