The latest 7 day QPF map shows that most of the rain this week will fall off the coast and will provide limited moisture to land. Since most of the Southeast has received plenty of moisture lately, with the exception of a few parts of Florida, there is no immediate cause for concern, but we will be watching carefully to see if this is a long-term pattern or if we return to wetter conditions in February. The Climate Prediction Center is not showing a tendency towards any particular weather pattern through mid-February, so we will need to continue watch to see how conditions evolve over time.
