If you are interested in learning more about how climate models work, you can check out this fairly long and detailed explanation from Carbon Brief at https://www.carbonbrief.org/qa-how-do-climate-models-work. In many ways the climate models are similar to weather forecast models except that weather forecast models are designed to work really fast (to get the forecasts out on time) and get details like temperatures and precipitation correct on short time and space scales, like out to about seven days. Climate models, on the other hand, are not as good on fine details but are better at creating patterns that look like realistic current climate patterns over long time periods. Kind of like comparing a Maserati with a Ford F-250. Same gas-powered engine and four tires, but good for very different things.
