The blog will be shutting down for about a week so that we can take the time to relax and celebrate with friends and families. I want you to know how much I appreciate your continued interest in these stories and hope that you find meaning in the season and enjoy whatever weather you get. For those of you in the Southeast, keep an eye out for sharply cooler temperatures starting this weekend and lasting most of next week, although I don’t expect much precipitation of any sort. A freeze is likely to get down to the Gulf coast by Tuesday morning. Wednesday morning could also be very cold. A special thanks to my National Weather Service friends who work throughout the holidays to keep us safe and to first responders and emergency personnel who are on call! I will be back on New Year’s Day to provide an update on the latest weather news and a look ahead to conditions in 2026.
