The latest 7-day QPF map shows that almost everywhere in the Southeast will get at least an inch of rain this week. The heaviest amounts will be associated with Tropical Depression Chantal, which came ashore on the South Carolina coast this morning and is moving north. Eastern North Carolina and Virginia are likely to see heavy rain at times for the next few days as the remains of Chantal continue to move north. Even if it dissipates, the slug of moisture from the storm will continue to bring more rain to that region. Some areas could see locally heavy flooding from the more intense cells. Southern Florida is also expected to see quite a bit of rain in the next few days. Weeks 2 through 4 are currently expected to continue the string of wetter than normal weather, although there will certainly be some dry days in between. If you are spraying something that depends on specific weather conditions, then you will want to watch the forecasts carefully to make sure you are getting the optimum timing.
