The latest 7-day QPF map released today shows that there will not be a lot of rain or snow in the next week for most of the region. The next two days should be dry, then a storm system along the East Coast will start to drop some rain on day 3 (Monday into Tuesday). Precipitation for the period from Christmas Eve through December 26 should be very light to non-existent in northern parts of the region. Late next week the next storm system will develop in the Lower Mississippi Valley and move east into Alabama and northern GA, dropping heavier rain there but leaving most of the rest of the region pretty dry. Since the blog will be on break next week, you can find the QPF maps at https://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/qpf/day1-7.shtml. Temperatures during that time period should be rising but another period of cold weather is expected after the first of 2025. You can find longer-term forecasts at https://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/.
