The latest 7-day QPF map shows very little rain for most of the Southeast this week. Most of what does fall will drop this weekend, with lower amounts early in the week and no rain at all expected late in the week. This is likely to cause the Drought Monitor status to get worse again this week even though fall temperatures cause less evaporation than summer heat. Week 2 looks like it has a slightly better chance of rain but temperatures will be above normal so evaporation will also be higher. The long-range forecasts also do not show any frost in the region until around the third week of November, and even then it will only be the most northern locations and the highest latitudes.
