In recent posts, you may have noticed that one of the factors we expect to contribute to a very active tropical season this year is the unusual warmth in the Atlantic Ocean. Climatologists have not been able to understand why the ocean there is so hot compared to what we usually expect this time of year. Climate models have not done a good job of explaining it either, which makes us wonder what other climate factors we might be missing.
