Rain is expected across most of the southern part of the region over the next 2-3 days before high and dry air returns to the region mid-week. North Carolina and Virginia will miss out on rain this weekend, but will pick up some showers leading into next weekend with the next system coming through, although most rain will be to their south. The rain amounts should continue to help eliminate drought from the region except in NC and VA where there will be no relief. Conditions could be pretty windy with tight gradients in atmospheric pressure over the next couple of days and could increase again next weekend. Week 2 is showing no tendency towards wetter or drier than normal conditions except in the Florida peninsula, which are expected to continue to be wet.
