You probably have not heard much about the two tropical systems in the Atlantic over the last few days. I took a look tonight and found that as of this afternoon Bret had disintegrated and was no longer considered a tropical depression. At the moment the remains are drifting south but there is some chance they will resume a westward track and bring rain to parts of Central America. It is possible but not likely that it could even pass over the land to the Pacific Ocean and could regenerate.

Meanwhile, TS Cindy is continuing along the predicted path that will move Cindy around the Bermuda High, missing the Southeast completely. It could cause some impacts to Bermuda and many model tracks also bring it over Nova Scotia, similar to the path of Fiona last year. But Cindy is not expected to gain hurricane strength so will be less impactful if that happens. No other waves appear to be coming off of Africa or developing elsewhere for the next week or two, and a large plume of Saharan dust should suppress any development for now.
