In case you did not know it, yesterday (March 21, 2023) was National Ag Day, a day when we celebrate all those who work in agriculture. You can read more about the day at https://www.agday.org/ as well as see photos of events in Washington DC yesterday. You can also read a story about it in Morning Ag Clips at https://www.morningagclips.com/national-ag-day-2/. To celebrate, I am posting a photo from today’s UGA ANR Training Workshop showing some agricultural and natural resource extension agents out in the field at UGA’s Bledsoe Farms inspecting the impacts of this past winter’s cold weather and recent frost on field trials of small grains. The blocks that have no visible growth are where black oats was planted last fall. The oats did not survive the cold outbreak in late December. Other grains did much better.
