The latest Drought Monitor, released today, shows that recent rains have improved moisture conditions in Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. However, the rain largely missed coastal areas of NE Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas, leading to worsening conditions there. The rain from Thursday’s storms may provide some needed moisture, but the line of storms is moving relatively fast, so relief may be limited. Rain chances look like they should increase in Week 2.
