The latest 7-day QPF map shows that nearly all of the region will receive less than 1/2 inch of precipitation this week. The highest amounts will be in the Appalachians and the Florida peninsula. There will be a storm developing off the East Coast by mid-week, but most of the rain from that storm will remain offshore. Weeks 2-4 are also showing a likelihood of drier than normal conditions according to NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, so drought may start growing again in the region after it stopped due to TS Nicole.
