We are about halfway through September 2022, and so here is a quick look at the month so far. Temperatures in the eastern half of the region have generally been warmer than normal, while those in the western half have been quite a bit cooler than normal. The precipitation has also been variable across the region, with the driest areas in the eastern Carolinas and Virginia. Alabama has been the wettest, and this no doubt has contributed to the cooler temperatures so far this month. Not much rain is expected for the next week, so that should move back towards closer to normal conditions there.
