The latest global climate summary for May 2022 is now available from NOAA. It showed that May was the 9th warmest since records began 143 years ago, but it was also the coolest May since 2013. In part this was due to the continuing La Nina, which has a large pool of colder than normal water in the Eastern Pacific Ocean dropping global temperatures to some extent. However, the May was still almost 1.4 degrees F above the 20th-century average. You can read the climate summary information at Climate.gov or NCEI.org.
