Now that the cold front is through the region, cold and dry conditions should dominate for the next few days. Many areas will see frost on Sunday morning! Not good for peaches, blueberries, and pecans as well as other crops that are already planted. I know that many farmers are making preparations for frost protection. By mid-week, another round of moderate rain will occur over most of the region with the exception of Virginia and North Carolina, then dry conditions will return by the end of the week. Fortunately, it does not look like the really cold temperatures will last too long. Is this the last frost of the spring? Still too early to tell, but we are near the average last date for frost, so I am hopeful that many areas will be past it soon. But you might recall that we had several frosts in April last year, so we are not out of the woods just yet.
