As I write this on Saturday morning, a strong front is moving into the area from the northwest. It will bring most of the rain for this week, with cooler and drier air filtering into the region once the front passes. No rain is expected after the front moves through until late in the week. This morning’s news about the deadly tornadoes in Kentucky and surrounding areas should remind all of us that severe weather can happen any time of year, especially in the Southeast, and so you should not let your guard down. A weather radio makes a good Christmas present if you don’t have one. We hold the families of the 50-100 people killed in the tornadoes last night in our hearts as they deal with the aftermath of the storms.
