I ran across this video a week ago and have just found it in my overloaded list of windows. It’s a little late for D-Day, which was earlier this month, but still a fascinating look at the weather planning required to plan the D-Day invasion, which required a lot of coordination and care in timing. I can tell you from my own experience camping on the cliffs above the beach at Normancy that the weather there can be rough and changeable, so the success of the invasion depended in large part on how good the forecast was. This video provides a 25-minute look at Operation Overlord and what they had to consider in planning the D-Day event.
