The latest annual climate summary for 2020 is now available from NOAA. It shows that this was the 5th warmest year on record for the contiguous 48 states, 2.4 degrees above the long-term average. The top 5 warmest years all occurred in 2012 or later. The precipitation was 0.34 inches above the long-term average, which puts it in the middle third of all years.
