Folks in Florida are already starting to see the rainfall from the outlying bands of Tropical Storm Cristobal, which is now located in the central Gulf of Mexico moving north. The west side of the storm is pretty dry, but the east side is very juicy, with bands of heavy rain moving out from the storm. We are starting to see some rain along the Gulf Coast, and you can expect to see squalls come through on and off for the weekend as Cristobal approaches the coast. As the storm continues to move north (all the way to Canada, including my old home state of Wisconsin, as a depression!), it will continue to pull warm, moist air ahead of it, leading to a chance of showers every day this week. Things will die down by the end of the week as the front that Cristobal is expected to merge with progresses to the east. The driest part of the Southeast will be near the East Coast in Virginia and North Carolina. After the front comes through, we can expect cooler and drier air for the following week.
