Here’s a story from the end of January (so a little dated) which has a pretty good description of how climate is changing in the Midwest, where I am from. Yes, it’s from BuzzFeed so tilts towards climate change activism, but overall the science is good and based on the National Climate Assessment. Some of my Midwestern readers (or those of us who have relatives in that area) might find useful.  You can read it here. Note that in the map shown below, the dry conditions in the Southeast are the result of numerous droughts during that period compared to wetter conditions in the second half of last century, when temperatures were quite a bit cooler than in recent years.
