It’s raining here at my house in Athens GA this morning, and I expect to see a lot more of it over the next few days. The latest 7-day QPF map shows that we could get several inches over the next week, with one batch exiting the region by Monday and the next coming in later in the week. We should see some dry weather mid-week, which makes me happy. This weekend’s precipitation could include rain, snow, freezing rain, or an icy mix depending on where you are. As is typical for this El Niño-like weather, the southern part of Florida is going to be largely missed by the rain, and drought conditions there could expand over the next week or at least stay the same. If you are out in one of the northern areas, keep an eye on the weather forecasts and drive carefully in case of icy conditions!
