The latest Drought Monitor, released this morning, shows a slight expansion of abnormally dry conditions in eastern Georgia and South Carolina but no increase in the area of moderate drought. With above normal rainfall expected in most of the driest areas this week, we could see some reduction in drought next week. However, the Florida peninsula will be largely bypassed by the rainy conditions and dry conditions could expand there in the next week.
