After a mostly dry weekend (except for Florida and the mountains), rain chances increase over the week as a front moves closer to the area. By Thursday, rain is more likely with thunderstorms ahead of the front, but may still be scattered. The driest region this week will be southern Georgia. The heaviest rain will fall in the far northwest portions of our region and along the Appalachians. The rain and clouds should bring down temperatures later in the week and the cooler air behind the cold front should bring even cooler temperatures to the region. I think we’ll all be happy for that!
