The latest set of outlook maps for May 2018 and beyond are now available from NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center. They show that May leans towards warmer and wetter than normal for all of the Southeast, with the strongest signal in southern Florida. Warmer than normal conditions are also more likely for the May through July period, although there is no signal for which category of precipitation is most likely. The seasonal drought outlook shows that drought should persist in some areas of the Southeast but will be reduced along the edges in southeastern Georgia and could be eliminated in southern Florida.
