Coastal erosion tool for hurricane planners

Now that we are entering the peak Atlantic hurricane season, emergency managers and others who have to plan for the impacts of a tropical system need every tool they can get to help assess threats and identify areas of concern before the storm is upon them.  NOAA’s Hurricane-Induced Coastal Erosion Hazards tool can help managers look for areas that are likely to be hit by storm surge and damaging winds to make sure assets are in place to deal with these hazards in a timely way.  You can read more about it and try it out at the US Climate Resilience Toolkit page at
