NASA: August 2016 ties previous month for all-time high temperature

NASA released their global average temperature statistics for August 2016 and found that August was the warmest August in 136 years of global record-keeping.  August also tied July 2016 for the warmest all-time month, which is somewhat surprising since usually August is cooler than July as the sun’s energy starts to wane.  You can read NASA’s story at or a related story at Climate Central here.
