The rain that was expected to occur with the last front did not pan out, leading to drier soils at a time when portions of Georgia are already in abnormally dry conditions.  Cool and dry conditions since the frontal passage have provided wonderful weather but not much moisture for growing crops.

However, this is expected to turn around in the next week, when stormy conditions should return to most of the Southeast.  We can expect daily storms to drop rainfall Saturday through Wednesday, mostly in the afternoon and early evening hours.
