Website link to keep a check on Southern Corn Rust in Ga
I believe the threat of southern corn rust and soybean rust is severe enough for our most southern counties that should strongly consider application of a fungicide if a) the yield potential is good, b) corn is between VT and R6 growth stages, c) soybeans are at or beyond R3 early pod development stages, and d) the corn and beans either have not been sprayed OR it has been more that 3 weeks since the last fungicide application.
Weather this week will be perfect for white mold on peanuts. Get after it! In short rotated fields I would likely begin white mold applications (along with leaf spot) by 45 days after planting. EVERYONE needs to be protecting against white mold by 60 days after planting.
