The training provides important information about paraquat\u2019s toxicity, new label requirements and restrictions, and the consequences of misuse. Training is required every 3 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">If an applicator needs the paraquat training, then there are several webinar and in-person opportunities soon at no charge.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dr. Bart Clewis, Syngenta\u2019s Senior Stewardship Manager, will be presenting 6 <u>free<\/u> webinars over the next 3 weeks. Only one registrant per webinar login will receive credit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">If there are numerous applicators that would like a group meeting, then <strong>the group meetings will be led by the county agent<\/strong>. The agents will validate the attendance by completing the attendance roster.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">There is a simple 10 question quiz following the training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Individuals watching on their own will do the on-line quiz.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Groups watching together will go through question and review with Dr. Clewis following the training, and the county agent will submit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Participants that complete the training will receive <u>1 hour of pesticide recertification credit<\/u> for private and commercial applicators.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>W<em>orth County Extension will be hosting group viewings<\/em><\/strong><em> of the webinar at the <strong>Sumner Room<\/strong> at Margaret Jones Public Library on the following dates:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">** <em>March 13, 2024, 2:00-3:30 PM<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">** <em>March 14, 2024, 2:00-3:30 PM<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">** <em>March 20, 2024, 2:00-3:30 PM<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>If any applicator is interested in attending a group session, please contact the Worth County Extension Office at 229-776-8216 to let us know which date.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-base-two-background-color has-background has-x-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>If we can be of assistance at Worth County Extension, please let us know.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Certified applicators must successfully complete an EPA-approved training program before mixing, loading, and\/or applying paraquat, as required by the EPA\u2019s Paraquat Dichloride Human Health Mitigation Decision.
