There are now more training opportunities available for paraquat applicators. This training is required every 3 years for applicators. The training provides important information about paraquat’s toxicity, new label requirements and restrictions, and the consequences of misuse.
If an applicator needs the paraquat training, then there are several webinar and in-person opportunities this month. Dr. Bart Clewis, Syngenta’s Senior Stewardship Manager, will be presenting 8 free webinars in April and May. The dates and times of these webinars are listed below. Register by clicking on the “Click here to register” link below or scan the QR Code with your phone. (For information on in-person group viewing, scroll down for details).
Only one registrant per online webinar login will receive credit for the individual registration, but one can select any training date that is convenient. Participants that complete the training will receive 1 hour of pesticide recertification credit for private and commercial applicators.
Worth County Extension is offering group viewing for any applicator or group of applicators that would rather view in a group setting. The county agent will verify those that attend the training for pesticide credits. The group viewing will be at the Margaret Jones Public Library at the Sumner Room (back bottom of the library) on the following dates and times:
- Thursday, April 11th from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 16th from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 30th from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
