Paraquat Training, Using Pesticides Wisely, Pesticide Applicators License information

Paraquat Dichloride Training for Certified Applicators – We have had some questions recently about paraquat training. The information and training is available at the following EPA website address: https://www.epa.gov/pesticide-worker-safety/paraquat-dichloride-training-certified-applicators. Once on the EPA training page, click on “EPA-approved training module can be accessed here“. The training requires about 45 minutes to complete.

Worth County Extension has hosted three “Using Pesticides Wisely” trainings to date. This training is required for growers that use Engenia, Tavium, or XtendiMax products in cotton or soybeans. All applicators driving the tractor/sprayer applying these herbicides (Engenia, Tavium, XtendiMax) must attend UPW during 2022 prior to using these products! Any individuals that attended and signed in at the Worth County Extension Row Crop Weed Management meeting on February 3, 2022, or one of the other approved weed control meetings have received credit for Using Pesticides Wisely training and do not need to attend an additional UPW training. Two other training opportunities in Worth County are planned for those that need the training: Wednesday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. and Friday, April 8 at 11:00 a.m. Please contact the Worth County Extension Office if you plan to attend. The training will be one hour.

Applicators should also have a pesticide applicators license. Information and instructions can be accessed at the following Worth County Extension website: https://extension.uga.edu/county-offices/worth/agriculture-and-natural-resources/pesticide-applicators-license.html. The training can be done at one’s convenience online, or if there is limited access to internet, contact the Worth County Extension office for assistance.
