A website from UGA Cooperative Extension

Some rains this week are helping to finish out some of our peanut and cotton acres.

We are still checking plenty of samples on the peanut hull scrape profile board. Mrs. Kristen Ford, our Worth County 4-H Agent, has helped with the peanut maturity clinics at our county locations and at the Extension Office. She has her degrees in agriculture and has experience with peanut maturity checking from completing her Master’s Degree at UGA Tifton. Many of our Worth County growers have had a chance to meet her this week. I am thankful to have great teammates here in Worth County Extension.

Cotton defoliation has also begun in a few of the cotton acres, with more to come soon.

If we can assist with harvest prep or harvest decisions, please contact Worth County Extension.
