Area cattle producers will be interested to know about the Annual HERD program heifer sale is still taking place this year, but in a different format. This will be a great opportunity for producers to purchase bred heifers to build their herds. Please see the following information from Dr. Lawton Stewart about this upcoming sale.
Due to the current recommendations from the Center for Disease Control, as well as the guidelines set by the University of Georgia, we will not hold an in-person sale at the station in Irwinville. We have worked with Cannon Marketing to set up teleauction and online viewing for the day of the sale. Prior to sale day, we have videos available online for all sale-eligible heifers. Additionally, for the days leading up to the sale, we have the heifers available for viewing. We ask that you contact Mike Keeler (229/326-3715) prior to traveling to Irwinville to set up a time.
