A day that the USDA NRCS describes as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;World Soil Day is a unique global platform designed to celebrate soil and empower governments, organizations, communities, and citizens around the world to improve soil health. This year\u2019s theme, \u201cCaring for soils: measure, monitor, manage,\u201d underscores the importance of accurate soil data and information in understanding soil characteristics and supporting informed decision making on sustainable soil management for food security.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a water resources person, I look at teh soil and water interaction and the benefits of water saving practices such as conservation tillage as a way to improve soil health so we can increase water holding capacity, increase infiltration, and filter pollutants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Have a fun World Soil Day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today December 5, 2024 is World Soil Day.
