I have heard the Columbia SC Waterworks Superintendent discuss the issues they had in Columbia, SC during the flood in October 2015.  In the June 2017 issue of the Treatment Plant Operator (TPO) magazine, there is a story of how the city employees worked to redirect flow, repair and manage the water treatment plants to provide clean drinking water to the city residents with only a few not having water at all times.  The story is titled Operators Kept Compliant Through South Carolina’s 1,000-Year Flood.  With all of the problems they had, keeping water clean took some good management and dedicated persons.
