We asked Lashea Lawrence, 4-H program assistant in Bibb County, to share what she loves about exercising and how she stays motivated.
What motivates you to stay healthy?
Walk Georgia motivates me to stay healthy. Over the last five years, I have gained over 80 pounds. I knew I needed to lose weight, so I decided to join the office Walk Georgia team. Being a very competitive person, I knew it would definitely give me a head start on my weight loss journey.
What do you enjoy most about exercising?
I enjoy being able to participate in activities with my children and live a healthy lifestyle.
What do you do to stay fit?
I joined the gym, run the track 3-4 times a week and LOVE running hills. In addition, I took a dance classes to make exercising fun. I also decided to become a vegetarian.
How do you make time for exercise?
By making it a priority. Usually, I’m tired after work; however, after running my first mile on the treadmill, I felt great knowing I had made the right decision to come to the gym.
