Sweetwater Creek State Park, in Lithia Springs, invites hikers for a mile-long evening trek by candlelight on Saturday, June 28. This easy to moderately difficult hike will go inside the Civil War-era ruins of the New Manchester textile mill. The park will provide candle lanterns. No children under 6 years or dogs on the hike, please.

Take I-20 west from Atlanta, exit 44 at Thornton Road, turn left and go a quarter of a mile. Turn right on Blairs Bridge Road. After two miles, turn left on Mt. Vernon Road and proceed to the park. (The Georgia State Park website warns against trusting GPS units for directions to this park.)
