Today we’ll venture out to Donalsonville, Ga. in Seminole County to visit Seminole State Park. This park is located on the beautiful Lake Seminole. The lake covers 37,500 acres and is an excellent spot for fishing, boating, and bird-watching. There is also a nearby cove that is great for water skiing and tubing. Animal lovers will also have a great opportunity to view some wildlife at Seminole State Park. Gopher tortoises, alligators, osprey, ducks, deer, and even bald eagles call this park home! Seminole State Park is also home to one of the largest longleaf pine forests in the state of Georgia!
The park also hosts an annual Father & Son Nature Hike. Park rangers lead the hike will also inviting guests to discuss the importance of the bond between father and son. Many sons and fathers have fond memories of spending quality time together in nature whether it be through hiking, hunting, or fishing. This is a great time to catch up with family, or just spend time together in general. It would be the perfect gift to give to a dad for Father’s Day!
