Laura S. Walker State Park is located in the Okefenokee Swamp in Waycross, GA. This means the park is right on the Georgia/Florida state-line. This 626-acre park holds many walking, biking, and hiking trails. While traveling these trails, you can take a look at a bounty of plants and animals. Gopher tortoises, alligators, great blue herons, and carnivorous pitcher plants are just some of the diverse wildlife that call Laura S. Walker State Park home. The park also allows you to fish, and rent boats and kayaks if you are more interested in checking out the lake.
But Laura S. Walker State Park’s most impressive feature is definitely their golf course. The Lakes at Laura S. Walker Golf Course is open from 7am to 7pm. They host a regular calendar of golf tournaments for pro, senior, and junior players. Their next golf tournament will be held on April 2nd from 9am to 2pm. This is a great opportunity to log physical activity with friends and family while enjoying the rolling hills of The Lakes Golf Course.
