Indian Springs State Park is located right off of I-75 in Butts County. This 528-acre state park is famous for the springs that it draws its name from. Legend says that the Creek tribe of Native Americans who originally lived in the area collected the spring water because of its healing properties. Indian Springs State Parks even offers tours for visitors to sample this famous spring water! After sampling, visitors can visit a museum dedicated to the Creek tribe of Native Americans as an opportunity to learn more about their history.
Morever, Indian Springs State Park hosts exciting events throughout the year. This year they are hosting Indian Springs State Park Springs Fling! Visitors are welcome to enjoy games, an obstacle course, and take photos with the Easter Bunny! Vendors will also be available to browse and purchase locally made crafts. This is a great opportunity for families looking for more Easter festivities to celebrate the reason for the season!
