Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation was the site of a booming rice farm in Brunswick, GA during the early 1800s. Family members have kept the plantation open as a historic site. The trails that criss-cross the plantation are great for anyone who loves walking and hiking! Many of these trails overlook the beautiful marshes that once held a bounty of rice crops.
But Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation is also a great spot for people interested in bird watching. The Colonial Coast Birding Trail is a great spot to see herons, egrets, ibis, and painted buntings. Hofwyl-Broadfield also hosts guided hikes through the marsh for people interested in learning more about plant life. Visiting Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation is a great way to log some activity while walking through history!
