Go: Elijah Clark State Park + Archery!

Clarks Hill Lake is one of the largest lakes in the Southeast. Also known as Lake Strom Thurmond, it is a reservoir in the Savannah River Basin. On its western shore lies Elijah Clark State Park. So named for frontiersman and Georgia’s Revolutionary War hero, Elijah Clark.Clarks Hill Lake

The 447-acre park features a log cabin replica of the Clark home complete with 1780s furniture, utensils, and tools. History buffs can check these out during weekends April through November.

Due to its boat ramps and accessible fishing, the state park is a haven for anglers and boaters. It is also well known for a host of other recreational activities.

Every Saturday, from August 27 through October 22, the park is hosting archery sessions for beginners! You can hone and sharpen your archery skills with guided sessions from an experienced ranger. Just remember to pre-register!
