Located on the western shores of Clarks Hill Lake, Elijah Clark State Park is one of the largest lakes in the Southeast. Named for frontiersman and Georgia’s Revolutionary War hero, Elijah Clark, the 447-acre park features a log cabin replica of the Clark home complete with 1780s furniture, utensils, and tools. History buffs can check these out during weekends April through November.

Clarks Hill Lake is also known as Lake Strom Thurmond, and is a reservoir in the Savannah River Basin. The park is popular with anglers and boaters due to its accessible finishing pier. The state park is also equipped with rental cottages and spacious campground for camping enthusiasts.
