Walk Star: Kaleb Carter

Kaleb received the top youth walker award in Bibb CountyKaleb Carter is a 7th grader at Mount de Sales Academy and a current participant in our program. His dedication to physical activity and love for playing sports earned him Bibb County’s Walk Georgia Top Youth Award in 2013 and 2012.

He has been active in Walk Georgia for several years. We asked him to share what he enjoys most about exercising and how he stays motivated.

What motivates you to stay healthy?

I’m motivated to stay healthy because it allows me to play the sports I love like football, basketball and baseball.

What do you enjoy most about exercising?

I enjoy the energy I get when I exercise. I have more energy after I exercise then when I sit on the couch and watch TV.

What do you do to stay fit?

I play some type of sport year round like football, basketball or baseball. Between sports, I like to run or walk around my neighborhood.

How do you make time for exercise?

I just do it! If I’m not practicing a sport with my school, then I’m playing outside; usually shooting hoops or playing football with my friend in my neighborhood.
