What is your exercise routine?
I don’t have a set routine in the offseason, I like to work on everything from strength training to cardio. We have a great strength and conditioning staff here that helps us with all aspects of our workouts, so during the season they have us working on something different all the time. We have a program where some days we’re working on our conditioning and other days it’s about getting your body stronger.
What do you do to stay motivated when exercising?
I want to be the best player I can be and I know being in great shape is a part of that. Improving my strength and speed is goal of mine and just knowing I need to improve on all aspects of my game helps keep me motivated when I’m working out.
How do you prepare for a game?
Obviously, practice helps the team prepare for every game, but I also do individual work to keep myself ready. Like I mentioned before, I do strength and cardio work, but I also work one-on-one with the coaches on my shot, rebounding, really all aspects of the game.
For you, how does nutrition play a role in being fit?
Nutrition is extremely important for anyone trying to stay in shape. To compete at this level, you have to be physically fit and you can’t be in your best shape just by working out, so nutrition is a big part of our program here. The staff makes sure we’re eating healthy, in addition to working out, so we can be at our best.
What advice or tips do you have on staying active and fit?
Do something active every day, even if it’s just going for a 30-minute walk or something like that.
