Please see this link for an update on the names and patent status of five, Pierce’s disease-resistant grapevine cultivars developed by Dr. Andy Walker from UC Davis.

These cultivars are of particular importance to grape/wine industry stakeholders throughout the southeastern US where Pierce’s disease remains a pervasive threat to vineyard health, particularly in vineyards planted at lower elevations in the Piedmont and Coastal Plains.

We had the pleasure of hearing Andy talk about some these cultivars, and also tasted some wines made from them, at the 2018 Georgia Wine Producers Conference. Please see the following link for agenda and registration information on the 2020 Georgia Wine Producers Conference.
